I've dumped the fvar table of SFPro and Inter Variable. Since this does not reproduce in other software, it probably means that there's something specific about how Adobe are interpreting fonts that is at play here. I don't have InDesign or any of the other related Adobe products (nor can I install them, even if I would buy a license long story.) Unfortunately, this is going to be near impossible for me to solve.
